Anambra Commissioner, Kate Omenugha abandoned by Obiano on 51st Birthday as husband now cooks for the family

 www.odogwublog.com was worried that Governor Willie Obiano, did not show up at the 51st birthday of Commissioner  for Education, Anambra State, Prof.  Kate Azuka Omenugha even when she is a kitchen cabinet and untouchable in the Obiano’s administration.
Prof Omenugha recently celebrated her birthday and was full of nostalgia of her childhood days, which she said was full of thanksgiving to God. The occasion which was her 51st birthday bash was attended by her close family members, friends and well wishers including some top notch from the government house, Anambra State.
Omenugha while soberly reflecting on her earthly sojourn from a classroom teacher in secondary school to a professor in the university and to a commissioner for education gives God all the Glory for her achievements and societal attainment on earth.

 She described her husband, Dr. Mike Omenugha and the State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano as role models, saying that, “My role as commissioner entails travelling a lot, keeping late hours and because His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano is such a wonderful boss, it is actually easy for me to work hard because I know I will be appreciated, because I know I follow his passion and vision and trying to match him in every step. So, working with him is so challenging and so rewarding. I want to work as hard as he is working if not harder because he is a role model. So, my work doesn’t affect my family and I thank God my children are mostly grown-ups.
“My husband, on his part, is supportive husband, this was a man that took care of our six children all the three and half years I was in UK for my PhD. I am impressed that I have such a husband that is a friend at all times. I have a supportive husband who is ready to go to kitchen and cook if am not around and I tell every man to emulate my husband. I am also thankful to God for giving me children that are sensible, intelligent and loving, children that are ready to explore the sky and are ready to be proud of me anytime anywhere.” she boasted.

 The Vicar, St. Theresa Catholic Church, Agulu, Rev. Fr Zoba Obinwata, in his tributes described Prof Omenugha “as a simple personality, somebody of very responsible parentage and family and someone who has greater height to still achieve and prayed God to continue to give her life upon life and longevity of life.
Another person who spoke glowingly about the birthday girl was her husband,  Dr. Mike Omenugha, fondly called Ichie Obama. In his accolade, he described the education Commissioner as “a small girl I married yesterday but when I look at her, I continue to wonder whether she is still the same small tutor I met at the Christ Rosery College, QRC in 1988.

“I never intended to marry a medical doctor but a teacher but that little girl has grown to be a loving and darling wife, a wonderful mother, a special gift to me and indeed to humanity and I pray God to continue giving her more blissful years and divine protection.
“My darling Azuu, being a Professor starts and ends at UNIZIK. At home, you can never have a feeling of that. She is a complete fully fledged wife and a mother. She doesn’t lack in any of her duties as a mother and as a wife. She completes every aspect of what you need from a wife and a mother. So, being a commissioner starts and ends at government house.

Her son and former Students Union Government, SUG President of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Comrade Nelson Omenugha said her mother is a very remarkable mother, very pious and down to earth. “A woman who rose from grass to grace, a woman who has redefined success, a woman who is not just a pace setter but a standard setter. “Words cannot really describe her good virtues and attributes but am sure that she is a very good mother. She had all the good virtue of motherhood and I am proud to have her as a mother and also wish to get a wife who is as good as my mother”
While her eldest son, Kelechi Omenugha wished that the Lord will keep his mother safe and grant her strong health, body soul and mind that she lives long enough to eat the fruits of her great sweat and labour, adding that “I will like to emulate her intellectual capabilities, writing, publication and teaching where I will impact knowledge on the younger ones. I encourage other mothers to believe in their children and have the basic virtue of humility” he said.
