How God saved 7 years old girl from gunshots of an Ambassador of the United Nation amidst drama

Miracles still happen. God came down at Adazi Nnukwu town, Anaocha local government area of Anambra state weekend and saved a little innocent girl Miss Chinaza Obidigwu from death by gun shots. The Nigerian police from Nnewi division had already swung into action to unravel the mystery of the shooting.

Chinaza 7 years old was allegedly shot by a former United Nations Peace ambassador, Mr Dom Nduaguba, 72.  That brought confusion into the community and everybody taught Chinaza was dead but God saved her.
She is now recuperating at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi.
The victim's father, Mr Tony Obidigwu could not utter a word as tears streamed down his face. He confirmed that the daughter had been admitted at the University Teaching Hospital Nnewi and was presently being operated upon.  He added that the wife, who is still in shock, is at the hospital looking after the victim.

Although the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr Okechukwu Ali, when contacted about the incident, said he was yet to be briefed about the shooting  by the Neni police command, Authority on Saturday Authoritatively reports that the police were on the case.

An eye witness, Mr Ifeanyi Okoye, said the suspect, who is presently in police custody, was said to have shot the girl only to accuse his 5 year old son, Master Jacob Nduaguba, of actually doing the shooting when he was arrested by the police.

Okoye said: "I was in the neighbourhood when I suddenly heard gun shots, and thereafter, I heard people crying and screaming for help. So I rushed to their direction to find Chinaza (the victim) soaked in blood. I immediately joined the mother and some others who were around to carry her to the nearby St Joseph's Hospital, Adazi-nnukwu, but, because it was a gunshot wound, she was refused treatment. So we had to rush her to Teaching Hospital, Nnewi."

The witness said Mrs Obidiegwu and her daughter were returning from where they fetched water, but on getting to the suspect's compound, the victim, Miss Chinaza, joined the suspect's children who were playing outside in their play. Not long after, the kids moved into the compound to continue their fun. The suspect who was sitting at the balcony released two gunshots on the innocent girl allegedly.

Another eyewitness said in camera:  "When I heard about the shooting, I contacted the police and informed them about the incident. They came immediately and asked him (suspect) to follow them to the station for statement but he refused saying he was not the person who shot the girl but his 5 year old son."

"He tried to resist arrest by removing his clothes and lying naked on the ground claiming he had health condition therefore he should not be arrested. But when the police insisted, he threatened he would ensure they lose their jobs.

Who actually shot Chinaza? Nduaguba or his son and why would a gun be at Children’s reach if so? Who shall face justice? The good thing is that Chinaza survived the ruthless attack by yet to be determined suspect. We at The Authority on Saturday joined in praying for her speedy recovery.
