'Fuel Crisis: Buhari, not Kachikwu should apologise to Nigerians'

A foremost insurance broker, Mr Delly Ajufo has condemned Nigerians calling on the minister of State, Dr Ibe Kachikwu over the lingering fuel scarcity saying that they should rather call on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign being the substantive minister of Petroleum.
Mr Ajufo made this known in a chat with The AUTHORITY on Saturday in which he said that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government has failed woefully and their inability to arrest the hardship caused by the fuel crisis has exposed their unpreparedness to govern a country as complex as Nigeria.
Kachikwu came under fire from Nigerians after he told the media that he did not have a magic wand to solve the biting fuel scarcity in the country and that the problem would linger till May 2016. While some accused him of fueling the crisis, others asked the president to fire him saying he was a saboteur.
The insurance broker, also presi¬dent of the Association of Professional and Practicing Insurance Brokers of Nigeria, (APPIBON), pointed out that Nigerians should blame Buha-ri for whatever ills they were going through saying that the president should have appointed Kachikwu as the substantive minister of petroleum which he said, would have justi¬fied the call for his sack.
“I don’t know why Nigerians are so myopic on certain issues. How can they be calling on the minister of State for Petroleum to resign over his statement that the fuel scarcity will linger till May? Don’t they know that the man has a boss who he must report to before making any public statement?
“If any person should resign over the problem of the fuel scarcity, it should be Mr. President. He saddled himself with the office of minister of Petroleum and so should have the solution to the problem. People are still thinking that the fuel crisis is a party issue. They are still blaming the former PDP government as if the problem was this bad when they were there,” he stated.
