Anambra capital city witnessed its first rain for the year 2016 on early hours of Tuesday and it's has been described as a sign of bumper harvest .
An Industrialist and Farmer Mr Godwin Ezeemo , owner of Orient farm based in Umuchu Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra in a telephone interview with the News men said the early rain fall shows bounty harvest and that hunger would be chased far away from the people .
Ezeemo said that he was excited when the rain started about quarter to mid night on Monday Feb. 29 and lasted into the mid hour of Tuesday and he quickly concluded that God has come to rescues the people from the heat wave as well water the ground for early tilling for greater harvest
.
He said that now was the best time for farming activities to commence as the rain has cancelled the fear of famine and urged all farmers to get ready to cultivate their seedlings on time so as to wage hunger against hunger and put smiles back to faces of the people .
He prayed that more of the rain fall will come so as to soften the land for serious farming business which was capable of providing many jobs fro people to engage in to chase idleness away and create source of livelihood.
Also Mrs Nkechi Nwokoye from Umunya in a telephone interview told that the rain was seen as a blessing because the heat wave was getting out of hand and that she had a peaceful night rest.
She prayed that more of the rain fall would be appreciated as it would soothe lots of problems associated with hot weather.

Also the rainfall came with a heavy down pour without wind and thunders storms however, the down pour left patches of gathered water in most parts of Awka environs which made access to some of street roads, in particular reference to Arroma junction, Amaenyi road difficult for use this morning .
Mrs Liz Orah a resident in Awka said in spite of challenges faced during rain fall she still thank God for sending down the rain to usher in the new month of March meaning goodness will come to calm the nerves of the people in the face of hardship.
Mrs Ngozi Obierili a civil servant, said that the rain helped to cool an already tensed environment saving people from diseases associated with heat wave
"l had a sound sleep last night, there was no heat as the weather became cool during and after the rain.
"I thank God that the rain was calm and there is no report of disaster as in pulling down of roofs , trees or collapse building and things like that.” She said
Mr Sunday Nwajagu a keke driver, thanked God for the rain and called on the state government to fix the roads in the state with pot holes especially Y junction in Okpuno road and other busy roads in the state.
