Governor Obiano must succeed or ......, says Peter Obi

I'm praying for Obiano's success - Obi
www.odogwublog.com reports that former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra state yesterday declared that his successor Governor Willie Obiano must succeed in office for the benefit of Ndi-Anambra hence he has devoted time praying for him to deliver to his mandate seamlessly.
Obi who spoke exclusively to Sunday Authority briefly yesterday vowed he never worked against the interest of Governor Willie Obiano since he was inaugurated against all allegations and speculations.
Obi speaking for the first time in person over the issues was pained some unscrupulous people who may not have his interest to succeed in government , continued to cause confusion derailing the focus of the administration.
His words: ‘’....how can that be possible? I can never work for Willie’s government to collapse. It is not possible. His failure has impact on me as a person. If he passes and does well by the rating of Ndi Anambra then other things can follow but if he fails then .......you know what follows because if you bring a good product to the market, you will be trusted and if you bring bad product, will you be trusted?
‘’How can I work against Willie? If I do that then I don’t appreciate God’s love and mercy and his blessings. In fact I am looking for God’s trouble .............’’
‘’I have rather prayed for Willie to succeed, having brought him to succeed me please. He would succeed. What I want you to know is that all this noise now has nothing to do for Willie’s second term in office as he would return for second term based on what he has done for Ndi Anambra and nothing else. The election for senate and Governorship are not same and has nothing to remove or add because when I contested for second term in office, APGA has no senator, no House of Representatives, no member of House of Assembly but Ndi Anambra voted for me based on what I did. Senator Ngige got votes in Idemmili because of what he did when he was in office as Governor.

On the allegation from former APGA National Chairman , Chief Victor Umeh’s quarters that Obi wrote to DSS to arrest him, Obi dismissed the allegation as baseless and holds no water.
According to Obi: ‘’ How can I write petition against my brother Victor? I have never written a petition against anybody in Nigeria and will not petition against anybody. If I write a petition against Umeh, then I am looking for trouble from God.
The Authority on Sunday reports that baring any hitches , PDP may select Obi as its senatorial candidate for the Anambra state central re-run and should Obi and Senator Uche Ekwunife team up, APGA’s candidate Umeh may have it tough.

Meanwhile, the National Coordinator All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) stakeholders forum and former Special Adviser to former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra state on parks and markets, Chief Sylvester Nwobu-Alor yesterday fired at the APGA’s candidate on the Anambra central re-run , Chief Victor Umeh.
Nwobu-Alor in a press statement warned Chief Umeh to stop blackmailing his opponents especially former Governor Peter Obi without provocation describing his arrest by the DSS as a ruse.
The elder statesman and former  old Enugu lawmaker wondered what Umeh and his ilk stand to benefit by hauling insults to the extent of calling former Governor Obi a criminal at no provocation.

His words:  ‘’It is now clear to all and sundry that the recent allegation of treasonable felony was occastrated and stage managed by Chief Victor Umeh to attract sympathy and support from the Anambrarians as, no sane person will petition the security operatives on such senseless and insignificant issues like blaming Mr. President for not cautioning the Fulani herdsmen, supporting MASSOB and criticizing cattle rearers.
‘’These issues, although of little significance, are likely to appeal to greater Igbo interest and sentiment.
‘’Chief Umeh also wants to use it to blackmail his political opponents.
‘’For example, the news flying around now is that Peter Obi is the person who wrote the petition against Victor Umeh.
‘’His primary motive is to blackmail Peter Obi and scuttle his chances in the forthcoming Senatorial Election.
‘’Some of us who know Peter Obi know that he is a credible and honest gentleman who cannot write any petition against anybody, no matter the circumstances.
‘’Victor Umeh did not stop there, he organized political thugs to demonstrate with placards calling Peter Obi “Criminal” “hater of Igbos” etc.
‘’I am pained to observe the extent to which politicians can go in order to win an election.
‘’I am honestly and sincerely appealing to all politicians to imbibe the tenets of discipline, honesty and good conscience in the pursuit of their political carrier’’, Nwobu-Alor concluded.
