In one of my exasperating moments ruminating on the bastardized true federal arrangement in the country which is the source and spring of the intractable insecurity challenges in this country, I referred to the Nigeria Police as ‘Northern Moslem Police’. This is because of the double standard of the security operatives which embolden the terrorists masquerading as Fulani herdsmen wielding AK-47 and slaughtering Christians in the middle-belt and southern part of the country.
Security operatives ferociously confront the Niger Delta militants, pipe-line vandals and lately the unarmed IPOD but regard the terrorists in the guise of Fulani herdsmen who serially slaughter Christians in the middle-belt and south as being above the law. These security operatives are always agile, proactive and creative in fighting criminality in the southern part of the country but wait for orders from the feudal caliphate before they go against criminality in the northern part of the country.
The abduction of Christian girls and forceful conversion into Islam are glossed over by the security operatives even as they regard Moslem institutions as above the Nigeria constitution. In their unbridled lechery, the Fulani herdsmen ravenously rape women at gun and daggers point, burning houses, robbing and kidnapping Christians while the security operatives pretend to be helpless in confronting them like other criminals in the southern part of the country.
The article captioned “Agatu: Under the siege of killer squad?” by Austine Tule, The Authority, March 13 2016, confirmed my reference to the Nigeria Police as ‘Nigeria Moslem Police’. The author in the opening paragraph lamented thus: “What exactly are President Muhammadu Buhari; Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno [rtd], National Security Adviser[NSA]; Lawal Musa Daura, Department of State Security[DSS] the Inspector General of Police[IGP], doing in respect of the series of attacks on communities by Fulani cattle herdsmen?”
The paramount ruler of Agatu, Godwin Onah, said that the Fulani people revealed that the supposed herdsmen came from Somalia, Mali or Senegal. The question remains: How could a band of well-armed marauders from outside the country with sophisticated weapons and helicopter dropping food and arms to the herdsmen chose only the Christians to be slaughtering? Whither the intelligent gathering of information of the DSS, police, Army, etc. who are always agile, proactive, ferocious, creative in terms of investigation on tip-offs and sophistication to invade houses, hide-outs, uncompleted buildings, forests, etc. to make arrests in the southern part of the country? Who is really fooling whom? Is there really anything like one Nigeria? Of course, there are two sets of laws in Nigeria: one for the Northern Moslems and the other for the other ethnic groups?
There is no doubt that the invasion of Agatu had been well planned as arrangement was made to use helicopter to ferret food and weapons. Where did the helicopter came from; a private one or from the Nigeria Air Force? The use of helicopter in similar invasion in communities in Plateau state was reported in the national assembly by a member of House of Representatives from Plateau state but the scion of the caliphate, the former speaker, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal brazenly intimidated him from relating the whole story on the floor of the House. Of course nobody is unaware of the covert agenda of the caliphate to over-run the middle-belt states but also to colonize the entire states in Nigeria.
One is tempted to asseverate that the serial killings in the middle belt is a come-uppance on the middle belt people for naively and sheepishly following the over-bearing caliphate in the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF; and the illegal Northern States Governors Forum, NSGF instead of forming ‘Middle Belt Governors Forum’ as obtained in the south. ACF and NSGF were ploys to cage the middle belt people to be supporting them in the national assembly to have their parochial anti-federalism laws and policies passed. The leaders of the middle belt are cowards who failed to reinvent the guts of late Joseph Tarka to liberate the people from the slavish yoke of the caliphate in the 1960s.
The likes of senators Barnabas Gemade and David Mark are contented in reeling out the horrendous atrocities of the Fulani herdsmen and do nothing to liberate their people. Senator Mark narrowly escaped being killed by the herdsmen; and the question remains: what have the middle belt people gained from being members of the ACF and NSGF as the Fulani herdsmen are unrelenting in slaughtering them?
In virtually all the communities in Igbo land, the Moslem Hausas masquerading as ‘Mai guards’, shoe-makers and suya sellers [spies] are mastering the terrains unsuspected all in the name of freedom of movement. Silly wealthy people in Igbo villages are engaging them as ‘Mai guards’ contrary to the advice of the of town unions.
If indeed there is no sinister plot to Islamize the entire country using the herdsmen, nobody needs to inform the security operatives to mobilize and wipe out the foreign invaders since they violated the territorial integrity of the country. Unarguably, the greatest corruption is nepotism. It is shocking that the President Muhammadu Buhari has not seen the double standard of the security operatives as nepotism which is corruption. He ought to see the serial slaughtering, raping, maiming, burning of houses and kidnapping by the supposed herdsmen as a top priority in his security reckoning.
The setting up of investigating panel on Agatu genocide was due to the fearless out-burst of the Governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose; otherwise he probably would have assumed his apparent askance in the serial herdsmen genocide as a non-issue may be because he is a Fulani man as people insinuated.
The President could be accused of brazenly violated the country’s constitution since he could not have wasted time as the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed forces to draft the soldiers to all the places where the foreign invaders in the guise of herdsmen are wrecking havoc and wiped them off. If the shooting of unarmed IPOD demonstrators was aimed at preventing the disturbance of the public, who was the army command waiting for in mobilizing and marching to Agatu and other places to wipe out the marauding foreign invaders? Who is fooling whom in this patently accursed country?
Those who apparently sponsoring the foreign invaders definitely will have themselves to blame because there is limit to extreme provocation since no ethnic or religious group has the monopoly of violence and genocidal atrocities. Nigeria has to be administered as one entity and reinvent true federalism or con-federation to enable the ethnic groups organize themselves to realize their manifest divine destiny.
