Immediate past Minister of Education, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau on Monday in Kano described media reports insinuating his plans to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as unfounded and despicable rumour.
A national newspaper carried a story that insinuated that Malam Shekarau has concluded plans to dump the PDP and form a new political platform to pursue his 2019 presidential ambition.
But Shekarau, in a swift reaction denounced the story, while reiterating his loyalty to the PDP.
The former governor of Kano State in a chat with journalists on the issue said he has no reason to exit from the PDP at this time, insisting that he remains a member of the main opposition party and will continue to pursue its principles and ideologies for now.
