Awka Anglican Diocesan Architect/ Project Advisor to Bishop Ibezim, Arch Okey Chukwuogo speaks from 2016 Retreatof Anglican clergy and wives ,

www.odogwublog.com reports that the 2016 clergy and wives retreat of the Awka Anglican diocese attended by over 5,000 clergy and wives has ended with a charge on the clergy and wives to be pro active on welfare of their members and betterment of society for the spread of genuine evangelism.

The three days retreat with theme; ‘’Be a living sacrifice’’, Romans 12.1  was presided over by the Anglican Bishop of Awka, Right Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim PhD.

Addressing newsmen at the end of the Retreat, Diocesan Architect, Anglican Diocese of Awka/ Project Advisor to Bishop Ibezim, Arch Okey Chukwuogo said the three day event was eventful and solemn.

The event which took place at the Awka Diocesan International Retreat and Resource center Okpuno situated at Kamali layout with over 90 plots of land had the wife of the Bishop and President of Mothers Union, Mrs Martha Chioma Ibezim leading wives of the clergy to the retreat.

Arch Chukwuogo said paper on Business Ventures in the Church was presented by Right Reverend Chidi Oparaojiaku; a paper on being a living sacrifice presented by Right Reverend Chijioke B.N Oti as well as a paper on clergy wife: An instrument of peace presented by Mrs Martha C. Ibezim while Venerable C.C Mgbemena coordinated.

The Project Advisor to the Anglican Bishop of Awka, Arc Chukwuogo  informed that the Anglican Church has acquired outright so many lands it held on lease for several years including over 100 plots housing old Bishop’s court to be used as Anglican Girls’ Convent . He said the diocese has built 18 classrooms block of 2 storey building for the convent and that the hostel block is under construction.  He said the Bishop has acquired the over 100 plots at St Paul’s College at Nibo/Nise and some parts of Comprehensive Secondary School Nawfia.

He announced that the ultra modern 3 storey floor complex St Faith diocesan hospital block the diocese is building with several large wards and three major operation theatres is at the finishing stage. He said the Mary Sumner Institute inside Paul University has an ultra modern hostel and classroom block completed with several labs awaiting commissioning.

Arch Chukwuogo announced that the Anglican Diocese of Awka would soon engage so many professionals in all fields of human endeavour following the completion of numerous investments projects of the diocese.
He said Bishop Ibezim has named the Resource center nearing completion as the Mount Zion international Retreat and Business center ,

He said Bishop Ibezim did not raise up to N1 Billion from his fund raising for investment by the Church  as speculated but sufficient millions were raised and is being put into good use to create further opportunities for engaging youths and professionals. He commended Bishop Ibezim for his efforts and dynamism set to create thousands of jobs in the state.
