Pope sends message of goodwill to Patrick and Veronica Adimike, asks Christians to be spiritually honest for eternity
www.odogwublog.com reports that His Holiness, Pope Francis has called on Christians to be spiritually honest for them to attain eternity.
In his homily at Awka-Etiti, Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State, during a special Church Service in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Adimike who marked their golden jubilee wedding ceremony, the Pope admonished them not to relent in seeking heaven.
Said he, “do not relent in your faith, the couple Mr. Patrick and wife Veronica Adimike are examples of good living. God opens Himself to those who have dis-sentiment, openness to Him. He will ensure you get to greatness if you fear Him”.
The Pope who was ably represented by Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo, the Apostolic Nuncio in the Dominican Republic, regretted that people are not spiritually honest to near God.
“Our problem is that we are not spiritually honest to enable God come to us”, he said.
According to him, “99 percent of people of Awka-Etiti are Christians”.
In his vote of thanks on behalf of Adimike family, Father George and Lucky Chinedu Adimike, children of the couple prayed God to guard all that came for the occasion especially the Pope and his entourage.
They pledged to rebuild the personage at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Awka-Etiti where the mass was held in appreciation.
Among those in attendance include, Senator Chris Ngige who is the Minister of Labour and Employment, former National Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, Pat Utomi, Director of Lagos Business School, Hon Kate Omenugha, State Commissioner for Information, Obinna Uzor, Former Gubernatorial Aspirant among others.
