Intrigues trail Anambra community Oraukwu’s selection of traditional ruler

Fresh facts have emerged that the Regent of Oraukwu community in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State left his palace to avoid performing his statutory function of presenting a select candidate for the traditional ruler of the town because his favoured candidate did not win.
Since the election was conducted last month, a group in the community claimed that due process was not followed in selecting a candidate for the Igweship.
However, chairman of Ezennaja –Amada  village, whose turn it was to produce the traditional ruler, Chief Ogoo Mmeni and secretary, Chief John Ilogu said in a statement in Awka that contrary to media reports, there was no crisis in Oraukwu over the selection of the next traditional ruler of the town.
They commended the caretaker committee set up by the state government for ensuring that due process was followed in selecting the next monarch for Oraukwu.
