UNIZIK's First Lady, Dr. Ahaneku sues for Unity among the University Women

The wife of the Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Dr. Mrs. Gladys Ahaneku has stressed the need for unity and oneness among members of the university community.

Dr. Ahaneku made this call today at the Christmas Party organized by the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Women Association (NAUWA) which held at the university auditorium.

Dr. Ahaneku who was the convener of the event, sued for peace and unity among women in the university as a way of driving home their demands not only in the university but also in the community.

On the aim behind the Christmas party, the UNIZIK first lady described it as an opportunity for women in the university to thank God for his unflinching mercies and grace throughout the year. She further added it also avails the association the opportunity to run a checklist on how it has faired in the past one year as well as charting new course for the coming year. She posited that the gathering also is an avenue for women to pray for the university, the students as well as their families.

Dr. Gladys further stressed the need for relaxation of which the party affords the members of the association. According to her, the health benefits of relaxation cannot be overemphasized. She asserted that the association will be organizing health talks to help the women of the university. She further called on other women working in the university to identify with the association by registering adding that measures have been put in place to move the association to enviable heights.

Present at the event were the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku, the deputy vice Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone and other members of the university management.
