Pomp and Pageantry at UNIZIK's Poject Fame

It was indeed a break from the norm and an innovation that was welcomed by all and sundry at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka over the weekend. This was the search of who becomes the next reality music star in UNIZIK as well as Who emerges the UNIZIK’s Intellectual Millionaire. The two packed programs tagged UNIZIK Project Fame and UNIZIK Who Wants to be a Millionaire, according to the organizers- Christus Found (Very Revd. Fr. Prof. Bonachristus Umeogu’s International Scholarship Schemes and Foundation) were aimed at fetching, rewarding and celebrating UNIZIK talents.

There was no dull moment at the university auditorium, venue of the program, which was  filled to the capacity, as the contestants dished out scintillating, stimulating and electrifying performances to the consternation of the audience. 
The contestants were drawn from various departments in the university and performed alongside the Jurassic band from the department of music. The presence of Dr. Alvan Ikoku Nwamara, a seasoned music lecturer together with Mr. Chikezie Uzuegbunam from the department of Mass Communication added prestige to the contest.

The 10 finalists emerged after passing through rigorous screening prior to the grand finale. The contestants took turns to display their mastery of musical talents. The audience was held spell bound by their performance that lasted for hours, as most of them were reluctant to leave the venue until the event ended.

At the end of the performances, Nlebedim Frank, a 300 level student from Psychology department with Frankstrings as stage name emerged the winner with a university scholarship. Okafor Nneka and Umeaku Alfred emerged first and second runner-ups respectively with cash prizes. The other segment of the program (UNIZIK Who wants to be a Millionaire) structured after the MTN’s Who Wants to be Millionaire saw the emergence of Chidera Igboneliaku, a 100 level student of Coperative Economics emerged the winner.

The events were initiated by the trio of Ekene, Elochukwu and Chiagozie Ezeumeanya.
