SUN Newspaper Formally Presents Award Notification's Letter to Governor Obiano.

A delegation of the SUN newspaper  Tuesday, formally presented Governor Willie Obiano with his notification letter for the award as "The Governor of the Year" slated to hold in February, 2016.

Shortly before presenting the letter, the leader of the SUN delegation and MD/Editor-in_Chief, Eric Osagie disclosed that Governor Obiano emerged as the top choice for the award l after two days of critical scrutiny and debate by the board of directors as the Best Governor of the Year.

Mr. Osagie stated that Obiano was found worthy based on his outstanding performance in all areas of governance. He insisted that the award cannot be influenced by money  as due process was duly employed in all the categories. He further disclosed that the "Governor of the Year" was the most competitive category as many parameters were employed in assessing the governors.

The MD asserted that the story of Anambra state has changed since the inception of Obiano's administration. He listed the governor's notable achievements to include the provision of effective security of life and property to the people of the state, drastic increase in the state's IGR, attracting investment worth over 600million US dollars, renovation of classroom blocks in the state, payment of worker's salaries not minding the economic challenges, infrastructural development.

"This uncommon but silent efforts of your government to redeem the people of Anambra from the shackles of poverty and underdevelopment; this passionate and sincere contribution of yours has made you the first winner of the 'Best Governor of the Year' award", Osagie said.

Governor Obiano in his remark expressed his unalloyed resolve towards committing his best for Anambra state.

Governor Obiano stated that despite the activities of detractors, he has always remained focused in his service to the people of Anambra. He hinted that his background as an established and accomplished accountant has contributed immensely in his administration of the state with regards to cutting cost, increase in the internally generated revenue as well prudently managing the resources of the state to achieving maximum output.

Expressing his delight in the award, Governor Obiano posited that it will go a long way in spurring him to do more for the people of the state as they deserve nothing but the best.
