MOBILIZING SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR OBIANO

In spite of his numerous outstanding achievements in one year and eight months of being in the saddle as the helmsman of Anambra State, Governor Willie Obiano has in recent times been adversely criticized by his political opponents and traducers hiding behind mercenary bloggers in the social media.

Latching on the postulation of Adolf Hitler’s propaganda minister, Joseph Gobbel that lies told severally in a sustainable manner are more often than not believed by the unwary, Governor Obiano’s antagonists have remained unrelenting in churning out their tissues of lies against his person, his beloved wife, Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano and his administration.

The social media hirelings and their pay masters and mistresses are unfortunately hateful of the people’s governor of Anambra State to the extent that they wickedly alleged that his beautiful and compassionate wife had died. What a pitiable and shameful propaganda! It is regrettable that they have been overwhelmed by hatred to wish death to a very kind and generous Lady.

They have also made ceaseless frivolous allegations about the governor and his sociable or people oriented life style. It is however gratifying that Ndi Anambra are not easily deceived by propagandists. Save for the antics of unscrupulous polls riggers, the Anambra electorate have always demonstrated their knowledge and understanding of the truth during elections. 

They had always cast their votes massively for APGA and its candidates because of their strong belief that the party would best protect and champion their fundamental interests. But their mandates had more often than not been stolen by political rogues.

Nonetheless, the Obiano administration has, to the satisfaction of the people performed credibly in the past twenty months. This is because the governor was more prepared than his predecessors to tackle the challenges of Anambra state. Apart from his five pillars of development predicated on; mechanized agriculture, oil and gas, trade and commerce as well as industrialization and logistics, the Obiano government has made security of lives and property the most important enabler of good governance. 

For this reason, Anambra is the safest and most attractive investors’ destination and haven in Nigeria today. As a matter of fact, protection of lives and property is the principal reason why governments exist. Governor Obiano is aware of this immutable truth.

In the face of the present general dire economic situation in Nigeria and the drastically reduced allocation from the Federation Accounts to states, Governor Obiano has attracted over two point five billion US dollars foreign investments to Anambra state. His government has equally boosted the internally generated revenue of the state from four hundred and fifty thousand naira monthly by the previous administration, to one point three billion naira. He plans to increase this to three billion naira before the end of his first tenure in 2018.

Irrespective of the dwindling resources from the federation account, the Obiano administration has continued to religiously abide by its pledge to continue, complete, and commission uncompleted projects inherited from previous governments. It has equally commenced new people oriented projects. For example; the three magnificent flyovers it is constructing at the Aroma, Kwata and Amawbia junctions on the Enugu/Onitsha expressway in the state capital are nearing completion and likely to be put into use before the end of this year. 

It is therefore mischievous, incongruous and uncharitable for any person or group to begin now to compare the achievements of Governor Obiano in less than two years to another government which lasted for eight years.

Be that as it may, all honest and unbiased persons in Anambra state and beyond are unconvinced by the propaganda of Obiano’s detractors. Happily, he has remained focused and unfazed by the antics of his mischievous traducers. Indeed, Willie is willingly working.

2: Mrs. Obiano condoles with Nanka Catholic Women Organization

The wife of the governor of Anambra State, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano has condoled with the Catholic Women Organization of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Nanka in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, on the death of 14 members of the organization in an auto accident over the weekend.

In a message to the organization and St. Gregory Catholic Parish Nnanka, the wife of the governor said that she received the shocking news while attending a Women Entrepreneurship Forum. According to her, “I am stunned at the loss of these women of virtue at a time when we needed all hands on deck in the mobilization of our women folk to develop our state. This accident is indeed very sad. It is even more shocking that they were returning from a condolence visit to another member of the organization; an act which confirms their dedication to the service of humanity, the church and the community.” 

Offering words of encouragement to the families and friends of the deceased, Mrs. Obiano, who is the founder and promoter of Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ), an NGO dedicated to uplifting and empowerment of women and indigent widows as well as the welfare of the physically challenged amongst other programmes, noted that the deceased women would be sorely missed, and prayed that God would grant them external rest.
