Ochuche Umuodu Town in Ogbaru LGA, gathered with family, friends and supporters on 18 December 2015 to bid a fitting farewell to its ranking traditional chieftain,Chief Anthony Aginagwu Ogbuedi, (Alanza Oduah of Ochuche Umuodu). He was aged 82 years.


Oduah Aginagwu Ogbuedi,  a red cap chief was the number two in the traditionalCouncil, immediately after the Igwe.  He is the father of Chief
 Hon. Oseloka H. Obaze and Dr (Mrs) Ofunne Obaze at the funeral.

John Ogbuedi of the Pensions Department in Anambra State. Chief Ogbuedi is survived by two wives, several children and many grandchildren.The funeral was attended by numerous dignitaries including traditional chiefs from Ogbaru, the Anambra Head of Service


Hon. Harry Udu, Chairman of Ogbaru LGA Hon. Victor Agolua, Hon. Afam Ogene, Hon. Dubem Obaze, Dr Azubike Akpati, several PGs and politicians.  The immediate past SSG of Anambra Hon. Oseloka Obaze and his wife Dr Ofunne Obaze also attended.


In paying tribute to his deceased uncle, Hon. Oseloka H. Obaze, a native of Ochuche Umuodu and SSG Emeritus of  Anambara said,


“Oduah’s passing  marks a huge loss our immediate And our larger family and Ochuche Umuodu Town.   His counsel as an elder and a ranking Red Cap Chief in the Igwe’s Cabinet will be sorely missed. He was one of the remaining custodians of our history, culture and norms.  In this regard, we have collectively suffered an irreparable loss.”
