Nigeria should be allowed to be land flowing with blood and tears , says Intersociety on Christmas Day
Xmas & Seasonal Message & Greetings To My Great Facebook & Associated Online Friends:
Happy Xmas to all my great friends, admirers and followers. Myself, family and Intersociety team cannot thank you guys enough for your unalloyed loyalty and supports in this elapsing and troubled year. We remain eternally grateful to the Creator of our lives and living for his divine protection and guidance. We pay tribute to those that lost their lives in the hands of the murderous security forces in Nigeria in recent months in the struggles for a better place of living for our generation and generations of those yet unborn. We call for prayers for them and for the actualization of the just cause that led to their untimely death. William Jefferson Clinton of USA once said "for Americans to endure and succeed, they must change; change to preserve Americans' ideals: life, liberty and pursuit of happiness; those we match to the music of our time; but our mission remains timeless". The same President Clinton once told the Israelis and Palestinians that "they must not allow a land flowing with milk and honey to be turned into a land flowing with blood and tears". Martin Luther King Jr once advised us that "when evil men destroy and wound, good men must rebuild and heal".
All your fellowship and supports towards our societal decency advocacy struggles since the begin of 2015 are highly appreciated. One major formula to fight injustice in Nigeria or to manage personal inhibitions in the country; is to adopt an age long formula used by old women in hill climbing; which simply is climb a little and wait a little; climb a little, wait a little; till the climbing is completed. Any old woman that tries to climbing a hill at once, will collapse and fail and the hill remains un-climbed. So whether you are a fresh graduate without a job; an undergraduate with academic frustration; a person with limited education wanting to improve, but caught up by procrastination; a young lady unmarried or a biz guy with clumsy turn over; do not lose hope and be steady and focused in what you are doing. Do not take to crime or become a retreatist (hopeless and frustrated leading to membership of street or victim-less or cyber crime syndicate).
Always think critically and positively too; and avoid thinking in noisy place or environment. The best thinking is that done in the hours of the blue law or in the dead of the night. As a graduate, you must always be on top of your environment and dominate same (i.e. be conversant with the social and political goings on) and get connected with ICT appliances at all times. If no white collar job is in the offing, look out for alternative including vocational occupations, creative works or trading. For your university education has nothing to do with what you choose to do decently for a living. You can operate food joint or liquor joint and still earn your PhD.
Your being educated requires creativity, coordination and connection; for no matter how educated you are, if you are not coordinated and connected, your education becomes worthless. The engine house of your being educated is critical thinking. When you do not think, you become a tinkerer and the world from the time of Yore, had been ruled and controlled by thinkers whose numbers are very insignificant and presence unnoticed. The thinkers rule the tinkerers. The phrase "global village" was coined as far back as over 700 years ago today by a British Field Marshall during their American discovery adventure in 15th century and it took the United Nations over 680 years in 1989 to dust it up. "America" came from a Spaniard Italian sailor called Amerigo Vespucci, who toured and made more discoveries around 1501-1504 in then "New World" (now Americas); after Christopher Columbus. Later a German Philosopher recommended the renaming of the "New World" (America) after the great discoverer; leading to the area now called "the United States of America" and ":South and North American Continents".
Think! Think!! Think!!! And your small mid or late night critical thinking can turn out to be a solution for a generation of yours or yet unborn with your name immortally affixed.
For human rights activists, we must remain a nimble, a thinker and social angels. Our works must not cease to be noticed and perceived by all and sundry; and positively impact on their lives too. This is the main brain behind the birth of the first global rights group: Anti Slavery International in 1848. Hit-and-run rights activism is the worse form of rights struggle. A long throat and misery rights activist can never be a good rights activist. Activism requires steady sacrifices and charity and it is also guided by conscience. Money is good but there are numerous things money cannot buy; one of which is conscience. In matters of conscience; you can be deadly hungry, yet refuse any food from conscienceless mortals. Do not be intimidated by riches of the profligates and other money-drunk mortals. Though they have money but they cant get those priceless attributes of yours with their monies. Peter Obi once advised Chief Christian Ubah to remember that it would take him 20 years to be a judge; that is if he goes back to classroom from that date. That piece of advice was given when the latter was reportedly attacking judges sitting in the former's gubernatorial matter in 2003. We must steadily put in what we have for the society to be freed from shackles and manacles of social demons and other demonic agents. Every human person is divinely tasked with three earthly assignments of : working, eating and service to humanity. But of the three; service to humanity is the most outstanding and surest ticket to heaven and earthly sainthood. Once again, Happy Xmas.
