El-Zakzaky not in our custody - Kaduna Prison Controller

The authorities of the Kaduna Prisons on Wednesday refuted reports that the detained leader of the Shi’ite Islamic Movement of Nigeria (ISM), Ibra-him El-Zakazaky, was in their custody.
Through the Controller, Abubakar Argungu, the prison management said that the reports of El-Zakzaky’s arraignment and detention in the prison were totally untrue.

According to Argungu, “We only have 191 followers of the Shi’ite sect in our custody. But we do not have their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky with us.”

The military, which detailed El-Zakzaky after his members’ violent clash with soldiers in the convoy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai, in Zaria on December 12, said they handed him over to the police.
