Son beats 84-year-old mum to death

Homicide Detective of Ondo State Police Command have arrested a middle aged man, Tope Adegbeyingbe, for allegedly hitting his 84-year-old mother to death in Araromi Obu, Odigbo Local Government area of the state.
It was reliably gathered that the deceased, Janet Oyeniyi, was allegedly hit on the forehead by her son, leading to her death.
Reports showed that the suspect had a domestic issue with the late octogenarian resulting to an argument and eventual death of the woman.
Ondo State Police Public Relation Office, PPRO, Mr. Femi Joseph, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, who confirmed the incident said the suspect has been apprehended and presently cooling his heels at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, for further investigation.
He explained that the unfortunate incident happened last week.
He added that when the team of medical personnel were battling to save the woman’s life, she gave up the ghost and her remains had since been deposited at mortuary in Ore for autopsy.
While stating that the suspect would soon be charged to court for murder, the PPRO added that the cause of the domestic argument between the suspect and his mother was under investigation.
