NUJ chairmanship candidate, Odogwu pledges transformation

Chairmanship Aspirant for Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Anambra state council, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, says he is focused and determined to take the state council to the next level, if elected.
www.odogwublog.com reports that Comrade Odogwu made the promise during his campaign tour to 10 Chapels of the NUJ, Anambra state council out of 15 Chapels. The election is scheduled for November 13th, 2015 at the Ezeemo International Press Center Awka.
The Chapels visited so far included Minaj Obosi, NTA Onitsha, ABS Onitsha, NTA Awka, Federal Information, Local government Information, NOA, National Light, and Correspondents Chapel, Community Reporters.
Comrade Odogwu will this week visit ABS Awka, Purity FM Mgbakwu, State Information, Living Christ Information among others. Odogwu is of the Correspondents Chapel.
Odogwu said that he would ensure transparency, accountability and probity, if given the mandate as well as uplift the image and recognition of genuine journalists. He assured also that fake journalists would be given a match for their disdainful act of lowering the esteem of the profession.
He informed that God used him to attract Chief Godwin Ezeemo to complete the Ezeemo international press center among others , insisting that he is the best candidate now to serve NUJ as Chairman having being Ex-Officio and Treasurer of the NUJ Anambra council. Odogwu has worked with Champion Newspapers, Nigerian Pilot Newspapers, The Nation Newspapers among others and currently with The Authority Newspapers.
Odogwu was accompanied by Secretary Aspirant,  Ngozi Obichukwuma who said her over 15 years experience in unionism would assist the Chairman and members attract their fair share from the center urged them to give Odogwu and his team their mandate. Obichukwuma is of ABS Awka and was financial secretary for years.
Chukwudi Chukwuenyem of Purity Fm Awka is gunning for Treasurer of the council while Henry Chigozie Duru of Orient Daily is gunning for Financial Secretary of the Council. Duru worked with Champion Newspapers before Orient Daily.
Other posts in NUJ are Auditor, Vice Chairman and Assistant Secretary.
Odogwu is contesting against Mr Abuchi Nwozor of the ABS and Mr Emma Ifesinachi of the State Information chapel. Comrade Emeka Arinze , former Secretary of the Union and ABS staff withdrew his candidacy.
