APGA Flags-off Revalidation/Registration of Membership Cards

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Friday, flagged off its Revalidation/registration and presentation of new membership cards for members and prospective ones.

The event which witnessed huge turn out of party faithfuls was held at the EziOkpaligwe square, Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area, the hometown of the National Chairman, Chief Sir Victor Oye. The governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano was present at the event together with some members of his cabinet.

In his address, Chief Oye disclosed that the exercise was part of the innovations from the new leadership of APGA geared towards the progress of the party. He stated that the registration exercise will be replicated in the 177 towns in the state. Chief Oye disclosed that the people of Amawbia in diaspora are in support of the registration as they contributed both morally and financially for the registration. "Amawbia people in Diaspora supported us with the sum of one million naira so that our people can be registered free of charge", he said. He assured Obiano of the support of the people of the town. "We've resolved to support his Excellency. We are solidly behind you as you move Anambra to greater heights. We assure you that we shall stand by you as you continue to pilot the affairs of this complex state to its Eldorado", Oye said.

He urged the people of the town to go to their various wards and register as registration has been made free of charge.

Welcoming the governor, the president general of Amawbia, Hon. Pharm Anene commended the Governor for his good works in the state, assuring him of the support of the town.

In his remark, Chief Obiano expressed his happiness describing the exercise as a welcome development. He expressed his delight at the turn out of people. " I'm delighted at the attendance. We look forward to sustaining this and winning more people to APGA. Be proud to be in APGA because your governor is working. We've commenced the massive Zero potholes activity in the state. If you've noticed, a group of people have been cleaning the roads in the state. We are also doing well with activities  pertaining the growth and development of Awka as a capital territory. We've done the area mapping of Awka for easier navigation. Our administration have concluded plans of the real design of Awka as a capital territory. I'm happy I am keeping to my promises to the people of Awka", Obiano said. He further thanked the people of Amawbia for voting APGA in the last general elections. He urged them to go forth and win converts for APGA.

Earlier in his address of welcome, the chairman, Awka South Local Government Council, Prince Azubuike Iloh commended the national chairman for the initiative noting that the exercise will lead the party to breaking barriers. He commended the governor for massive developmental strides in the state especially in Awka.
