The last has not been heard of the tussle over who becomes the substantive House of Representative member representing Nsukka-Igbo Eze South Federal Constituency as the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Dr. Ifeanyi Asogwa applied to join the matter at Supreme Court.
In his affidavit, Dr. Asogwa, through his counsel, Mr George Ogara ,applied to join the matter as an interested party and prayed the apex court to discountenance all the appeals by Dr. Patrick Asadu and Mr  Ikechukwu Ugwuegede, both of People Democratic Party (PDP) and dismiss their case and declare him (Dr. Asogwa) winner.
It would be  recalled that Dr. Asadu went to the tribunal and court and challenged the election of  Ugwuegede  as the House of Representative member for the constituency and won the matter which saw him as the current member representing Nsukka/Igbo Eze Federal Constituency.
However, it was gathered that when Dr. Asadu went to court to  state that he was the validly nominated candidate of the PDP, Ugwuegede did not challenge him.
According to our source, “When Dr. Asadu served court proceedings to  Ugwuegede, he never bothered to go to the same court with his documents to convince the court that he (Ugwuegede) was the authentic candidate of PDP”.
The Appeal Court, he stated, could not have any evidence against Asadu as Ugwuegede did not lay counterclaim that he was the valid candidate that emerged from primary election.
Therefore the APC and Dr. Asogwa had this to say: “Since Dr. Asadu did not come to the tribunal with a petition against Ugwuedege, PDP and INEC stating that he is the person who ought to have been declared the winner based on the fact that he is the valid candidate as expected of him by section 137 (3) ,he cannot be issued a certificate of return”.
Continuing, they said that Ugwuegede did not win the primaries and therefore can not be candidate of PDP and since Asadu did not run for the election, he ought not to be declared winner of the election.
Meanwhile, the supreme court has received all addresses and documents but is yet to fix a date for judgment.
