Uwazuruike dares Anambra CP over ban of MASSOB, says nobody can ban MASSOB , as movement is backed by UN charter

Leader of Movement for Actualisation Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike yesterday, declared that nobody can ban the activities of MASSOB because it has the backing of United Nations charter on indigenous peoples right to self-determination.
Reacting to the purported ban on MASSOB activities in Anambra State by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hosea Karma, Uwazuruike advised the police to study the United Nations Charter, Article I to II on indigenous people’s rights.
Uwazuruike, who spoke through the deputy national director for Information, Mazi Chris Mocha, stated that UN General Assembly had on September 13, 2007, adopted a resolution calling for the recognition of the world’s 370 million people’s right to self-de¬termination.
“The UN General Assembly had on Thursday, September 13, 2007, whilst Uwauruike was in detention in Kefi prison in Nassarawa State, adopted a resolution that called for the recognition of the world’s 370 million people’s rights to self-determination and control over their lands and resources.
“There comes a time, when people get tired of being trampled over by the iron feet of oppression as is the case in Nigeria.
The only option for such indigenous people would be to take their destiny into their own hands.
“MASSOB is using non-violence approach and nobody, not even the Inspector General Police, Mr. Arase, can ban MAS¬SOB in any part of Nige¬ria. So, let no policeman, soldier, politician or any person try to intimidate us.
It is our inalienable right. Anything to the contrary by the police is a state rumour and absurd,”, Uwazuruike said.
The MASSOB leader, vowed to pursue vigor¬ously, the agitation of self-determination based on the UN Charter, impart ideas and hold meetings without interference from any person or persons.
