Disturbed by the attack on Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State by his critics that he has not performed to merit second tenure ticket, a former Chairman All progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in Oyi Local Government Area, Chief Vincent Obiorah Anyakora, advised the critics to turn a new leave adding that the governor is God-sent to better the welfare of the people.
Urging them to be patience and watch the governor he said, “Obiano will perform more than his predecessor, Peter Obi and others”
Speaking during the New Yam Festival of Nkwelle Ezunanka Community, Oyi Local Government Area, the APGA former Chairman however admitted that political criticism is everywhere but added that, "the truth is that Obiano is the only good thing that has happened to this state in terms of flushing out criminals".
"Before Obiano there was crime everywhere, kidnapping, armed robbery and assassination but today Obiano has chased them away”, he added.
He revealed that critics were unaware that the Government for now receives meager allocation, "still Obiano maintains the tempo by paying workers salary as at and when due”.
Urging them to have a rethink he said that Obiano’s performance will speak for him come 2018 gubernatorial election.
Speaking on the New Yam Festival Anyakorah said that it was a yearly event meant for interaction amongst relations, in-laws, friends and well wishers.
"It is also a period to thank God for the harvesting of farm produce and preparation for the farming season.
Masquerades are not left out as they also play major role by entertaining the people as they eat, drink and make merry", Chief Anyakaorah added.
