Buhari can’t stop MASSOB Existence, says Group

www.odogwublog.com reports that the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Brafra, MASSOB, yesterday in Onitsha, Anambra State, condemned the clampdown on its members ordered by President Mohammadu Buhari.

MASSOB said no matter the level of its suppression, it would not stop the existence of the movement.



Addressing newsmen, the MASSOB Deputy Director of Information, Mazi Chris Mocha, said that, “Buhari cannot stop us from actualization of a sovereign state of Biafra even if he sends the entire security operatives in the country to South East and South-South geo-political zone”.


He described the action of the Federal Government as an, “act of cowardice because we are a non violent organization fighting to actualize a Biafra Republic”.



The MASSOB Deputy image maker revealed that yesterday police, soldiers and other security operatives barricaded the road leading to Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu memorial library in Owerri, Imo state with Armourd Personnel Carrier, APC.


“Those who wanted to pass to and from the area were thoroughly searched while our members that were coming for a meeting were prevented from entering the library venue”, he reveled.


Consequently, “our leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike who wanted to preside over the executive meeting had to cancel it citing security reason and to avoid casualty on the side of MASSOB.”


He reiterated that Buhari cannot stop them from existence , saying,” if OBJ as president who hated Ndigbo and what he stood for could not stop MASSOB for eight years, is it Buhari that will stop us”.


Contributing, the Nnewi South Regional administrator, Tony Nwodo revealed, “Uwazuruike urged united state to resue the Igbo nation from the federal government marginalization and we look up to America for our emancipation.”


According to Nwodo, “we are fighting for a sovereign state of Biafra which we marked its 16th year anniversary few days ago. Nwodo hinted further According to him the struggle would be, forward ever and backward never”.  

Meanwhile , a factional MASSOB group have called for the probe of the MASSOB under Chief Ralp Uwazuruike . They said he misled the struggle with his selfish desires hence so many Biafrans are in detention and many others killed without proper burial even as many of their members corpses litter the mortuaries across the federation.
The statement signed by Uchenna Madu former spokes person of MASSOB lamented that Uwazuruike asked members to go for Church thanksgiving but ensconced himself in a hotel room only for his supporters to be arrested and others murdered.
