                                                           Bloody scissors murder
A middle-aged tailor identified as John Iheanyi, is now in serious trouble for allegedly stabbing a colleague, Anthony Kalu, to death over a minor disagreement in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State.

The sad incident which happened at 39, Kaduna Street in the city where the two had adjoining shops, occurred when an argument ensued over Kalu's absence from the tailor's union meeting on Wednesday, August 19.

According to a source, annoyed at the poor attendance at the meeting which was scheduled to discuss sanitation matters in the area, the union executives mandated some people including the suspect to find out from the absentees why they boycotted the meeting.

The disagreement reportedly came about when Iheanyi who hails from the same Edda community in Ebonyi State with the victim, demanded to know why his 'brother' failed to attend the meeting.

There was a heated argument which led to a fight and during the confrontation, the suspect picked up a pair of scissors and plunged it into the neck of the victim close to the esophagus, leaving him bleeding from the mouth, nose, eyes and ears.

Seeing that his victim was bleeding severely from the wound he inflicted on him, the suspect allegedly fled the scene to the nearby Central Police Station where he reported the incident.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ezekiel Onyeke, confirmed the incident, saying investigation was ongoing on the matter.
