PDP CRISIS: VILLAGE MEN DEFENDS METUH , SAYS DONT VILIFY METUH, HE IS OUR HERO

www.odogwublog.com reports that the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Nnewi North Local Government Area, Engr Maduka Okoye has cautioned against vilifying the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Barr Olisa Metuh who according to him deserves heroic treatment.

Engr Okoye made this known while reacting to the alleged suspension of the national officer from the party from his constituency in Nnewi.

 He pointed out that the National Publicity Secretary who is a founding member of PDP has always contribute positively towards the growth and stability of the party which he noted has endear him to all the party faithful .

 "That Metuh is a national officer for sixteen years he maintained is a clear manifestation of his strength of character and political sagacity as others who served before or even after him have been shown the way out."

 Okoye said emphatically that the purported suspension of Metuh from Nnewi chapter of the PDP only emanated from members of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) who are still masquerading as PDP members with an holy ambition of destabilizing the party.

 " I wish to let you know that Nnewi North Local Government Area is a one town local government where everybody knows who is who, we know the individuals behind the kangaroo suspension of our national officer and I make bold to say that they are not our members but agents of other political parties who are obviously worried with the current form of our party in the state" he stressed.

 The PDP chairman said what should be paramount in the hearts of sincere and loyal party members at national, state and local government level now is how to celebrate a man who has work diligently and selflessly too, for the progress of the party.

 He warned that the PDP would pay dearly for it if the national publicity secretary who is by all standard a genius is frustrate out of the party by elements he alleged are neither fish or meat in the political landscape.

 Engr Okoye however said that in as much as the party's big umbrella is big enough to accommodate all and sundry, he said PDP can no longer tolerate any anti-party activities which noted has done a great blow to them in the past.

 " It is only here that you hear of APGA/PDP or APC/PDP. The era of that is gone. Every individual is free to identify with a political party of their choice but people with chameleonic characters and dispositions are no longer needed in the newly restructured PDP."

 The PDP chairman while urging his members to remain calm and focused said that registration of members will soon commence across the state and that the process would be thoroughly scrutinized to prevent dubious politicians from hijacking the exercise.

 He restated the commitment of the PDP toward taking over the Awka seat of government in the next governorship election, a task which he pointed out has been made easier by waning popularity of the incumbent governor, Chief Willie Obiano due to his inability to positively impact the grassroot.

 Okoye said the PDP would educate the electorates to register their displeasure to the administration of the day by denying it a second tenure.
