This man who holds fake masses started parading himself as a seminarian, then as a pastor and later as a reverend father of the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara.
He claimed to have been ordained a priest on June 12, 2011 by one Rt Rev Dr Maxvirgin Chierika Iheanacho, Bishop of Lagos Diocese and primate of the Anglo-Catholic, His Grace Most Rev Dr Scot Maclaughin of the Missionary Society of St Francis, New York. But he did not mention the venue of the ordination.
He was soon sacked from his native Umunama Village Ezinihite, Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State when his activities came under increased suspicion. But this fake Catholic priest relocated to Ehime in Mbano LGA where he staged his show at the sports stadium.
On August 24, 2011, Chilaka was confronted by the media director of Okigwe Diocese, Rev Fr Peter Anyanwu, to ascertain the veracity of his priestly claims but the answers he gave betrayed his fakery.
Soon after in November of same year, government authorities, bowing to pressure, kicked him out of Ehime Mbano Stadium where he had been operating and Chilaka promptly relocated to Obiohuru, his present location.
The fake priest is said to display poor liturgical knowledge at his adoration site. Some of them include beginning his so-called mass as chief celebrant only for another of his acolytes to take over during his brand of consecration rite as the principal celebrant while Chilaka concelebrates.
Also at his ''masses'' a concelebrant kneels during consecration, just as the fake priest clones every activity of the Catholic Church including the rosary and the sacraments in his desperation to appear genuine.
He is equally said to employ fetish practices and objects as sacramental, and they include such things as ''back to sender oil'', ''anointed oil'', ''anointed water'', ''favour handkerchief'', ''stone powder'', ''favour soap'', ''solution book'', ''charm destroyer'', ''anti-poison'', among others.
Before his adoration starts, his workers usually advertise the products which are exorbitantly sold. For instance a small bottle of anointed water sells for N1, 000.
The fake priest charged N10, 000 for consultations and customers are expected to lodge it in his bank account and come with tellers before they can see him.
Sources close to the fake priest say he is no longer interested in family liberations but in that of community who will have to officially invite him before he comes.
He is also reported to attract reverend sisters to his ministry and lavishly entertains them and gives them money. Not stopping at that, he asks them to administer communion to his congregation.
He performs miracles too which the people however suspect as those in the host community claim none of their members have been healed except strangers they do not know.
Consequently, his people at Obiohuru no longer attend his prayers, leaving those from Enugu, Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom to frequent his prayers.
Rev Fr George Nwachukwu said Chilaka was not a priest and that he was not also recognized in the diocese as one.
Fides gathered that the Catholic church is powerless to stop him as anyone can worship the way they like as enshrined in the constitution. But a source told Fides that it is the people who should be careful about the places they go for their spiritual needs.
