August Meeting: Put Peter Varsity On Your Agenda, Bishop Ezeokafor Tasks CWO

www.odogwublog.com brings the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor has appealed to Catholic Women Organization (CWO), Awka Diocese, to donate generously towards the proposed Peter University Project, Achina Aguata Council Area.

Bishop Ezeokafor who made the appeal at St. Patrick's Catholic Cathedral, Awka shortly after the pontifical High Mass to mark this year's August Meeting, said the proposed Peter University had all it takes to correct the anomalies in Nigeria's education system if given the necessary support.

Bishop Ezeokafor while soliciting for support enjoined Women to deliberate on issues pertaining family noting that moral decadence and youths restiveness could be traced to broken homes.

He urged the Women to think along that direction by making meaningful input towards actualization of the goal noting that he was preoccupied with the project which he said when completed would be a citadel of learning where there would be no cutting of corners in other to pass examinations.

'Peter University will be affordable, ecumenical in nature, accessible and accommodating. The Peter University Project is a collective responsibility; it is for both clergy and laity. Catholics and non Catholics should support this noble initiative because at the end of it all we will all enjoy the dividends.

'The school will produce over 5000 job opportunities when completed. People should assist us because is a shared responsibility . We are building it to help the Federal and State governments change the dwindling nature of our education system.

'Our emphasis will be on both the teacher and the learner even though the learner will be given more attention because we want to produce quality manpower that will be job creators and not job seekers,' Bishop Ezeokafor said.

Bishop Ezeokafor prayed God to blessed them even as he wished them fruitful deliberations.
