Anambra:Robbers snatched 'Okada' in Church

Unknown robbers were last Sunday stole a motorcycle also known as okada at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish,Awka, Anambra State.

The motorcycle belonging to one Mr Mmaduabuchi Onyekwelu was stolen when 6  O' clock Mass was on  going.

Onyekwelu, a member of the parish, attended 6am Mass but could not see his motorcycle at the end of the Mass when he came out from church.

Complaining over the situation, the victim said '' I parked my motorcycle inside the church compound when I  came for mass, but I am surprised I couldn't find it again"

"The motorcycle is really helping me in my business and it will hamper the progress of my activities" Onyekwelu added.

Shortly after the complaint, a lady, miss Chinelo equally raised alarm that her Lady's-motorcycle was tempted with.

Miss Chinelo who has a shop adjacent Ministry of Lands, Awka, said they fiddled with the head of her motorcycle,but couldn't cart away with it.

Intervening in the situation the Managing Director Anambra State Newspapers and Printing Cooperation, also called National Light, Chuka Nnabuife said appropriate measures should be taken to avoid a repeat of such.

Sir Nnabuife who condemned the situation advised that a tally should be given to all motorcyclists and car owners who parked inside the church premise.

All efforts to get to the parish Priest, Rev Fr. Anthony Akabuogu proved abortive ad his number wasn't going through.
