Faith Ofeimun, a 24-year-old woman, has been arraigned before a Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos
State, charged with drugging one Bright Benson, causing him to lose consciousness, before going ahead to steal his properties like a BlackBerry phone, Nokia Lumia phone, two Samsung digital cameras, a Samsung Galaxy tablet, gold wristwatch, gold necklace, valued at N677,000, and a cash of N52,000.

According to the prosecutor, Andomena Koti, Ofeimun is facing a three-count charge of endangering life, felony and stealing.

Koti said the accused committed the offences in the night of April 24, 2015, at 4, Tokunbo Street, Lagos Island.

The prosecutor informed the court that Benson told the police that he met the suspect at Obalende Roundabout around 11.00 p.m. on the fateful day.

Benson told the police that Ofeimun asked to put up with him for the night because she couldn’t get a vehicle to take her home and he agreed and after accepting to accommodate her, the compalinant took her to his apartment to pass the night.

When they got to Bensons's apartment, he offered her a bottle of malt drink and also got one for himself but when he went to the toilet, the suspect allegedly administered some drugs in his drink.

When he returned and took the remaining drink, Benson thereafter fell into a deep slumber, following which Ofeimun stole the items.

When he eventually woke up the next day at about 1.30 pm, he discovered that the lady he brought home had swept his apartment clean.

Luck smiled on him almost a month later when he ran into Ofeimun at the same spot he had picked her on May 14, and invited the police to arrest her.

However, when the charges were read to her, the Edo State born Ofeimun pleaded not guilty and the Chief Magistrate, M. Folami, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 and adjourned the case till September 9 for trial.
