Unizik VC Extols New Chancellor, Gbong Gwon Jos

Ahaneku has described the newly appointed chancellor of the institution, His Majesty, Da  Jacob Gyang Buba, CON, Gbong  Gwon Jos as a consummate public servant with deep wealth of experience in public service.
Prof. Ahaneku stated this when he led members of the university management on a courtesy visit to the chancellor.

The vice chancellor in his speech told the chancellor that the management of the university came to see their “new father” and to congratulate him on his new appointment. He also said that the university named after the great Zik of Africa was lucky to have someone of his caliber as chancellor. He assured the chancellor of the university’s readiness to host him whenever he visits the university.

The university boss expressed high optimism that the friendship existing between the Southeast and the North Central will be further cemented with a renowned peace ambassador as chancellor.

Reacting shortly, the chancellor, Gbong Gwon Jos who was visibly happy with the visit assured that he would encourage the growth of the university through his wide connections in Nigeria. He preached peace in all parts of Nigeria especially in Plateau state where some unrest have been noticed for some time.

The traditional ruler extolled the efforts of the founding father of the University, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe who contributed a lot to the unity of Nigeria as a nation.
Highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of gift to the vice chancellor by the chancellor.

The delegation was later treated to a private dinner at the residence of the chancellor located in the heart of Jos.
