Stakeholders advocate legislative independence

TRADITIONAL ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Egwuonwu has called on the Anambra state legislators to ensure
the passage of bills that will enhance development in the state.
  Igwe Egwuonwu who spoke to the press in Umuawulu on his expectations from the legislators, expects them to cooperate with Governor Willie Obiano and the judiciary in moving the state to the next level.
  The royal father extended his hand of fellowship to the deputy speaker of the State House of Assembly from Umuawulu, Mr. Harford Oseke, urging him to carry his constituents along with him in his legislative business.
  He called on the deputy speaker to utilise his position to attract the rehabilitation of the Umuawulu - Amaetiti road
  On his part, a former legislator, Mr. Onyekachi Aghanya urged the legislators to be mindful of the independence of the legislature, with particular reference to their oversite functions which they should take very seriously to enhance development in the state.
  Mr. Aghanya felicitated with the deputy speaker, Mr. Oseke, expressing belief that his wealth of experience will be brought to bear in discharging his legislative functions.
  Contributing, another Umuawulu indigene, Mr. Chike Oranye, urged the legislators to make laws that will be in tandem with the vision of Governor Willie Obiano.
  Mr. Oranye encouraged the deputy speaker, his townsman to be committed to the challenges of his office.
