President Muhammadu Buhari is reportedly planning to sack all Nigeria’s service chiefs before the end of July.
Buhari might however retain Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase in his position, a Presidency source said.
The service chiefs are the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshall Alex Badeh; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Kenneth Minimah; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Usman Jibrin; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice
It had earlier been reported that the President was planning to remove the chiefs and replace them with his supporters.
Meanwhile, Buhari, on July 2, 2015, sacked the Director General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Ita Ekpenyong and replaced him with Lawal Musa Daura.
