This, he said, is to encourage people and scholars to get acquainted with the pre-colonial history of Igbo Culture.

The highly revered traditional ruler stressed that the books will be distributed to institutions in the South/East Geo-Political Zone. He encouraged every community to devote effort to the transformation of the community and society at large.

Responding the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joseph E. Ahaneku, FAS expressed appreciation to the Obi of Onitsha for his show of generosity and for bringing his Royal Blessing to the University.

He promised that the University will make judicious use of the books in fostering human development. The books, said, will be of immense importance to undergraduate students, post graduate students and students of the Chinese Institute. Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of cartons of the books to the Vice-Chancellor by the Obi of Onitsha.

Agu; the Director TETFUND, Dr. Carol Arinze-Umeobi, The Director Infrastructure and Development Dr. Godson Okafor; the Director Information and Public Relations/ Chief Protocol Officer of the University Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu and members of the Obi Cabinet amongst others.
