Civil Society Group tasks Buhari to sit up as Nigeria’s President

www.odogwublog.com reports exclusively that Transform Nigeria Movement, (TNM), a civil society group yesterday challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to exhibit traits of a detribalized and forthright leader of a complex country like Nigeria.

Anambra state Coordinator of the Movement, Comrade Obi Ochije lambasted Buhari’s ‘’Northernization’’ appointment,  wondering why the appointments Buhari has made so far were all from the North including DSS, and INEC as well as NNPC.

Ochije called on Buhari to remember he is a President of Nigeria and not a President of the Northern Nigeria , urging him to be guided by wisdom in his affairs and dealings with over 170 Million Nigerians.

‘’This appointments were lopsided and not in the best interest of the country.

Ochije, also the Chairman of Ezinano community comprising of 20 villages in Awka capital territory of Anambra state said:‘’The President Buhari is from Katsina State, Senate President Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, are from Kwara and Bauchi states respectively. The judiciary is led by Justice Mahmud Mohammed from Taraba State.
‘’ Check the nine appointments made by Buhari so far, eight are from the North, while one is from the South. The appointments are: Director-General of the State Services, Lawal Daura, Katsina State, he was brought back from retirement to head the agency while competent hands are still serving; Acting Chairman, the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mrs. Amina Bala Zakari, Jigawa State; Director, the Department of Petroleum Resources, Mr. Mordecai Danteni Baba Ladan; and the Accountant-General of the Federation, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, Kano State.
‘’Others are the State Chief of Protocol, Mallam Lawal Abdullahi Kazaure; Aide De Camp, Lt.-Col. Muhammed Lawal Abubakar, Kano State; Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu; and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, South-West.

“Is he rubbishing the legacies left by Jonathan? Jonathan appointed Northerners as his National Security Adviser, Defence Minister, Inspector-General of Police, Chief of Defence Staff etc. But so far, Buhari has shown us that he has no regards for other parts of the country. He should not run a Northern government....................
He went further to ask him to initiate moves to divide the country so that each region would be independent as being agitated in so many quarters rather than waste everybody’s time. He lamented that the only thing the Presidency under Buhari has done for Anambra state if not South East was relocation of Boko Haram suspects to Aguata prison.
