Buhari sacks Bianca Onoh-Ojukwu , 93 others

As President Buhari recalls political appointees serving as envoys abroad, former beauty queen, widow of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Chief Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and APGA chieftain was prominent.
President Muhammadu Buhari called them back after three years of service abroad. They were told to hand over to the highest ranking officer in their various locations.
Others include Chief Ojo Maduekwe (Canada), Dr. Dalhatu Tafida (UK)Professor   Ade Adefuye (USA); and Mr. Taofeek Arapaja (Jordan), Mrs. Fidelia Njeze (Switzerland), and Mr. Yemi Farounbi (Philippines). Bianca Ojukwu had been in Spain.
They were among the 93 envoys posted out in June 2012. Of the 88 envoy nominees sent to the Senate by Jonathan at the time,   only 84 passed the screening. Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, who was nominated to represent Anambra State on the list of non-career category, had not appeared for screening but was confirmed nonetheless, her nomination coming barely a week after her husband died in a London hospital.
The sack is the biggest since President Buhari assumed office on May 29.
Blogosphere deems the move not politically motivated, as the recall of Ambassadors serving in foreign missions is a routine exercise especially where there is a change of guard at the federal level.
