The event coincides with the 2015 athletics Federation
of Nigeria (AFN) Diamond League which kicked-off yesterday and would end today
at the Rojeny Sports Complex.
A release from the
Public Relations Officer of Anambra State Ministry of Youth and Sports,
Bernedette Nwakile informed that all members of the State Executive Council,
heads of government agencies and local councils will grace the occasion.
According to Mrs
Nwakile, the event is one of the partnership
initiatives of Gov. Obiano’s administration which brings the private
sector into the development of sports in the state.
Meanwhile, the 2015
AFN Diamond League Athletics championship kicked off yesterday with
invitational relay races involving some secondary schools in the country. The
races were in 4x100 meters and 4x200
meters for boys and girls.
2015 Diamond League
competition being hosted by Anambra according to the Public Relations Officer
of the sports ministry will serve as qualifier for all international athletic
meets involving Nigeria, such as the All African games, Commonwealth games and
the Olympics.
At the time of
filling this report, some of Nigeria frontline notable athletes both at home
and abroad have arrived Anambra and are set to compete in their individual events

ReplyDeleteThat reminds me , Nkpor –Amawia road were done 100% by Gov Obi and the running track at ROJENNY STADUIM was the handwork of Peter Obi who gave Chief REMMY EZEONWUKA “ Ogirisi Igbo “ the sum of 60 Million naira in two installments of 30 million Naira each to upgrade the stadium and the racing tracks.
I am sure that before the end of the month they will spot ANAMBRA SECTARIAT ,I observed that there is a little Pot hole near the entrance ,they will patch it up and ask you to commission the Secretariat ,then they will remove the PETER OBI PLAGUE and replace it with WIW. Then they will move on to Prof Kenneth Dike Library ,maybe supply them 3 copies of THINGS FALL APART and some copies of OBI IS A BOY and then it will be considered good for commissioning .Moving on,,,,
