AN IDEMILI customary court sitting at Oba in Idemili South LGA was sent reeling in laughter when a
middle aged woman, Nkiru Onajeme told the judge that part of her reasons to seek dissolution of her marriage with Afamefuna Udeozor is that he constantly bed wets at night.
Giving evidence as first witness in her petition for native divorce, Nkiru told the court that she could not continue to live under one roof with a man who bedwets like infants. She also stated that Afamefuna does this always, and such habit adds more burden to her domestic roles as she keeps washing and changing their beddings.
Narrating her ordeal further, the petitioner said that her husband’s constant drinking of alcohol makes their marriage unbearable.
She added that every effort she made for her husband to turn a new leaf resulted in beatings for her.
The petitioner also told the court that it was not long after coming to live with the respondent, Afamefuna after their traditional marriage in 2007, that she started suffering from her husband’s bed-wetting. She endured it for so long, to see if Afamefuna will change but all to no avail, she said.
She urged the court to dissolve their marriage and save her from the bondage of cleaning up an adult like a baby everyday. .
