A journalist with New Telegraph Newspapers in Onitsha (names with held) was on Monday evening
attacked by robbers, though he managed to escape.
The journalists was on his way home from work, but had a flat tyre at 33 Housing Estate Road and was busy changing it when the robbers swooped on him, thinking he had money.
But the guy had no money on him and he was beaten up.
This is coming at a time residents of Onitsha are worried over the resurgence of armed robbery in the commercial city.
The robbers have adopted the strategy of laying siege on unsuspecting bank customers.
A woman who withdrew money from a new generation bank at New Market road was trailed by to Oguta road by armed robbers operating in a motorcycle who eventually robbed her of the money.
