Imo Poly expels almost 400 students over exam and admissions fraud

No fewer than 389 student of the Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo in Ohaji/Egbema council have been
expelled by the authorities of the institution following their alleged involvement in examination and admission scams.
The Rector of the Institution, Rev Fr. Wence Madu who disclosed this to newsmen in his office yesterday,said that the students were expelled because they had gained admission into the institution through fraudulent means.
The rector maintained that measures have been put in place to fish out all those who entered into the institution through the backdoor stressing that any student caught will be shown the way out.

Fr. Madu who also reaffirmed the institution’s zero tolerance for examination malpractice, campus cultism and other vices insisted that the management is poised to re- position the institution to ensure that its graduates can effectively compete favourably in the labour market.
He declared that the era of sorting, bribery for admission purposes and other related illicit practices had ended in Imo Poly charged students and intending ones to concentrate on their studies so that they can earn their scores by merit rather than by hook and crook.
The cleric who harped that only intending students who genuinely merited admission would be admitted into the institution cautioned those involved in admission racketeering to desist and keep away from the school or be ready to face the wrath of the law if caught.
