I stepped down for Harford Oseke-APGA chieftain

 Christian Ezenwoke is the vice chairman, Willie Obiano Support Group, Anambra Central, and the
coordinator, Awka South Local Government chapter. he opined the reason he abdicated the House of Assembly seat for Hafford Oseke, former Majority Leader ANHA and his contributions and support for the growth of APGA.    

HOW long has Willie Obiano Support Group been in existence?
  Well, it has been in existence since the administration of His Excellency, Akpokuedike, It was one of the platforms the Governor used to win governorship race in Anambra State. The group has 21 Co-ordinators covering the local governments in Anambra State.
  Are you saying the group assisted in emergence of Governor Obiano?
  Yes of course, it was a group that was established during the time of former Governor Peter Obi, aimed at giving Governor Obiano a soft landing in his campaign. Now Governor Willie Obiano has embraced the group by giving his full consent to its existence. He urged us to facilitate the registration of the group at CSC Abuja, which he assisted. In the last general elections, the group fought vehemently to deliver all the APGA candidates in all the local governments and all the political positions. I, the Coordinator of Awka South I worked in my ward, Nise ward 11, as polling  agent.
  I made sure that APGA won in that polling unit (002) both for House of Assembly and Senate. In addition to that, I partnered with the wake up call proprietor, Dr Nwandu Okereke. I provided buses and other logististics for the campaign. We displayed all that the Governor signed.
  The Governor has a selfless heart. He has shown truly that he is here to serve and not to be served. His one year in office was a success. We see the on-going fly-overs, roads, especially the airport roads. He wants to make Awka the capital city. Don't forget that I was a former Governorship candidate of CPP but have joined APGA. I was the Chairman Onitsha North and in the last election, I wanted to vie for Anambra House of Assembly but abdicated for Hon Harford Oseke, for the peace of the party. In my local government, Awka South, I made sure that the good works of the group is spread everywhere down to the grassroots. I did this because I believe in Akpokuedike and the wife. They are blessing to Ndi Anambra.
  Apart from campaign, was there other reasons the group was formed?
  Yes, as I said before, this group is the only official group the Governor consents. Those who lost primaries in the group were called by the Governor to work together as one. The aspirants encouraged us to deliver them and we did because APGA is one. Though some of us joined other parties, but I'm here with all my strength. Infact there will be no vacancy at the Government House in the next eight years. So the group is to deliver candidates of APGA. We have equally attended external workshops like the ECOWAS workshop and others and we will still move on even to travel to Ghana for workshop.
  You said you contested for House of Assembly what happened?
  Well, am from Awka South and we decided to always support any good candidate. In line with the decision, we agreed to support a candidate who has been there in his first tenure, I mean the former majority leader of the House, Harford Oseke. Because he did well, we agreed to embrace him and give him 100% support. So that was the reason I stepped down for him so that he will complete what he had earlier started. I met him as well and was very happy. The Governor on his own encouraged us to be steadfast.
  As a rational stakeholder in the state, do you support restriction of motorcyclists and tricycle plying express and major streets?
  Of course, I support. Governor did it for the good interest of the people. Sometimes it touches me that Governor will break his convoy to attend to accident victims and rush them to hospital. He loves the life of his people. You can imagine, within some months he emerged, he increased salaries, distributed bags of rice to workers and so on. Last time there was an ugly incident at Upper Iweka, where a fuel tanker claimed many lives. He wept. So these are what he considered to ban “Okada” and “Keke” from plying expressway to reduce death rate in the state.
  In order to save lives equally, he fixed reflective lights on roads for those who ply at night. I call on all to support his policies.
  What are your expectations from the Buhari government?
  The states sometimes cannot operate without the centre. At his emergence as  the president, the Governor deemed it fit to congratulate him because he knows Buhari well. He is in APGA but will work with him. Do you know that the first visit of Buhari as a president was in Anambra State. That is to tell Anambrarians what he has for us. He came to console with us.
  I call on all to support his government. Willie Obiano Group, Awka South Chapter will do their official inauguration on 4th of July 2015 at Odumegwu Ojukwu part, Amawbia. If you have passion for our governor, I call on you to come and witness it.
  Finally, how will you rate the support of Chief Mrs Ebele Obiano to her husband?
  Indeed, our indisputable first lady, the Mama Anambra is a woman of substance. She is a supportive and benevolent woman. Always in support of the husband. She has touched the lives of many people in Anambra State. She has erected a home where all lunatics in the state are being gathered and housed. There is no mad people in Anambra again. She has taken care of them and some taken to hospital. She has empowered some of them. More than 13 of them now have regained their conscience. No one has ever done such in Anambra State. She equally empowered most of the youths, and pay them monthly salary. So I thank her for that. Infact she is a woman with a difference. No wonder they said behind every successful man there is a woman. The words of Governor Obiano and his wife are bond.
