How Obiano sacked his Special Advisers, Appoints New Special Advisers, Chief Executive Officers

Anambra State Governor Chief Willie Obiano has appointed new special advisers and chief executive
officers of government agencies .

These new appointees are Hon.Chinedu Obidigwe as Special Adviser on Political Matters , Hon.Charles Uche Okafor as Special Adviser on Internally-Generated Revenue , Mr.Ikechukwu Onyeabo as Special Adviser on Chieftaincy and Town Union Matters , Mrs.Vera Okonkwo as Special Adviser on Legal Matters , Barr.Amaechi Okwosa as Special Adviser on Agriculture , Arc.Michael Okoye as Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority and Chief JoeBilly Ekwunife as Managing Director cum Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Investment Promotion & Protection Agency .

Administering the oath of office and allegiance on the appointees at the state ministry of justice yesterday  , Director of Litigation in the ministry Barr. Emma Ike who represented the Solicitor-General charged them to be diligent in the discharge of their official duties and avoid primordial interests .

Speaking shortly after the oath-taking exercise , ex-Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation now Special Adviser on Political Matters to Governor Willie Obiano , Hon.Chinedu Obidigwe said they would meet the expectations of the people in the discharge of their new assignment . Hon.Obidigwe said he would ensure that the political atmosphere in the  state is calm and peaceful devoid of inter and intra-party warfare .

He said the onus lies on him as the special adviser on political matters to realise a better political terrain in Anambra free of campaigns of calumny and brigandry . Obidigwe also disclosed that his new assignment will involve sensitization of the state citizenry against political assassination , thuggery as well as all other vices inimical to the political terrain in Anambra State while stressing the need for inter-party relations amongst the diverse political parties in the state .

Former executive chairman of Oyi Local Government Area now appointed as special adviser on internally-generated revenue Hon. Charles Uche Okafor said his primary assignment would be to identify loopholes in revenue generation as well as correct the anomalies inorder to increase the revenue base of Anambra State . Although he observed that the IGR was considerably low at the moment but would henceforth ensure that every money belonging to the state government is remitted into its coffers .

On the other hand Arc.Michael Okoye who will henceforth oversee the activities of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority as chief executive officer of the agency disclosed that plans are underway to make Awka have the semblance of Dubai and other mega cities in the world .

 Although he expressed dissatisfaction that the current status of the state capital is not befitting but commended Governor Willie Obiano for having constituted a 10-man professionals of which he is at the helm of affairs , charged with the mandate to produce a befitting masterplan, design as well as implement infrastructure for Awka capital territory and of land use and control development within Awka capital territory .
