COMMISSIONER for Information,
Culture and Tourism, Uju Nwogu has disclosed that civil servants in the
ministry will be undergoing training from time to time to update their
knowledge.
Speaking at an interactive session she held with state information
officers at her office, Dr Nwogu reminded the officers that as the eyes of the government in their various localities, they have a duty to inform the people
positively on the developments in the state.
She extolled Governor Willie Obiano who within so short a time, through
the instrumentality of his development pillars, has made much impact in the
state.
Dr Nwogu who stated that it was on record that Anambra state remained
the best in the federation, in terms of prompt payment of workers' salary. She
expressed displeasure at the negative attitude of some workers in their duty
posts, and advised them to be up and doing.
The commissioner described the security situation of the state as
superb, and said that it had endeared many investors to the state.
Dr Nwogu praised Coscharis farm for her efforts in the state, and said
that Anambra state has acquired soil texture test equipment to enable it know
which crop to plant where, hence, the comparative advantage the sector now
enjoys in production of some crops.
In infrastructuural development, the commissioner stated that Governor
Willie Obiano has performed marvelously, going by many road construction works
either completed or ongoing in the state.
Dr Nwogu disclosed that an ultra modern digital studio is under
construction in ABS, which when completed, ABS radio would compete favourably
with some international media outfits.
She urged civil servants to educate the masses on the four pillars of
Governor Obiano's administration which include, mechanised agriculture,
industrialization, oil and gas and trade and commerce and commended the
director of Information, Emeka Oluoha for his doggedness.
