The
Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board said it has engaged the services of 400
Islamic scholars to
conduct sensitisation programme on Hajj for the 2015
intending pilgrims.
Public
Relations Officer of the Board, Alhaji Badamasi Nuhu, disclosed this in an interview
with the News Agency of Nigeria in Kano on Sunday.
He
said the Islamic scholars were expected to conduct the programme at the 16
designated centres, established across the state.
Nuhu
said the programme, which commenced across the centres last week, was aimed at
enlightening prospective pilgrims on the Hajj rites.
“The
sensitisation will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays, for two
months. The programme will give intending pilgrims the opportunity to know
how to conduct proper and acceptable Hajj rites,” he said.
He,
therefore, called on all those who secured the Hajj seats, to ensure that they
attended the programme regularly, in view of its importance.
“All
intending pilgrims are expected to attend the sensitisation programme at the
centres nearest to them and it is necessary,” he said.
NAN
recalls that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria allocated 5,537 Hajj seats
to Kano State for the 2015 Hajj.
