Umuoji stood for Ex-Governor Obi as Obi explains why President Jonathan was used by God to save Nigeria
www.odogwublog.com reports that more facts have emerged on why President
Goodluck Jonathan immediately accepted
defeat during the last Presidential election.
Former
Governor of Anambra State and the National Deputy Director General of the PDP
National Campaign Council, Mr. Peter Obi gave the revelation weekend.
Obi
said that "God took control of President Goodluck Jonathan", and gave
him uncommon wisdom to take the outcome of the election as he did, thus
preventing Nigeria from sliding into chaos.
Speaking during the Umuoji Youth Development Association's Award at Umuoji yesterday, Obi said that Jonathan's action would go a long way in entrenching democratic culture and values not just in Nigeria and Africa, but even beyond. He expressed optimism that history would sooner than later recognize President Goodluck Jonathan as one of the greatest Nigerians who insisted, against all odds that the blood of any Nigerian was not worth spilling because of political ambition.
Reacting to the statement credited to the Oba of Lagos, HRM Oba Rilwam Akiolu, Obi said he was still in a state of unbelief and prayed it would turn out that the revered Oba was either misquoted or quoted out of context despite the gravity of the statement.

Obi
said that part of the fruits of Jonathan's action was to teach Nigerians
that in all circumstance, Nigeria must come first, a Nigerian devoid of ethnic
parochialism.
Describing the
statement as worrisome and regrettable, Obi, who urged everybody to vote
according to his or her conscience, described as unacceptable, a situation
where a particular ethnic group was sent packing from the North because of
election and are being threatened to pack out of the West. He urged the Oba to
continue to be a father to all at all times.Speaking at the event, the National Leader of Umuoji Youth Development Association, Mr. Joseph Okonkwo said that the decision to present Mr. Peter Obi with an award over a year he left office was to show appreciation to him for laying the foundation for the continued growth and development of Anambra State. He said all the towns in Anambra benefitted from Obi's good leadership, including Umuoji that benefitted in road construction, youth empowerment, security, education and other sectors.
The Igwe of Umuoji, HRH, Igwe Cyril Enweze and an award recipient, recognize Obi for laying an enduring foundation for the State upon which subsequent leaders are expected to build on.
