Hon Chugbo Enwezor: Confusion in APGA As Onitsha Youths Dump Party

incumbent lawmaker representing Onitsha 1 Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chugbo Enwezor is in for a serious trouble as majority of Onitsha youths have strongly vowed to end his career as a legislator for Onitsha North 1 Constituency on Saturday’s Governorship and House of Assembly Elections.

Despite last minute political intrigues made by the Anambra state governor, Chief Willie Obiano through the state Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Mrs. Azuka Enemuo who is an indigene of the town to pacify the youths to vote for the APGA candidate, Hon. Enwezor, the youths numbering about six hundred who trooped to Imeobi palace, Onitsha on a scheduled meeting contesting by palace officials and the Commissioner for Local Government allegedly rained abuses on the Onitsha Cabinet Chiefs (Ndiichie), accusing them of collecting money from the state government to support a particular candidate.

Mrs. Enemuo, the State commissioner for Local Government after the meeting refused to talk to the press, but sources told the press that the commissioner who was diplomatic in her choice of words had told the people to cast their votes for continuity during next Saturday’s House of Assembly Election as a mark of solidarity to Gov. Obiano.

APC Chairman, Onitsha North Local Government, Mr. Nwakibie Okagbue told this reporter that all entreaties by the commissioner to convince the youths had failed as their candidate (APGA) performed woefully during his first term in office and vowed that youths in Onitsha would cast their votes according to their conscience.

He, however, boasted that APC candidate for the constituency, Mr. Ifeka Egbunike was a preferred candidate.

Some indigenes who attended the meeting included Accord Party candidate for Onitsha North I Constituency, Chief Idu Okosi and his APC counterpart, Mr. Ifeka Egbunike and some Onitsha Cabinet Chiefs. While the incumbent lawmaker, Hon Chugbo Enwezor was absent at the event.
