PDP candidate, Ekwunife speaks at last ,thanks electorate for electing her …commends President Jonathan for showing sportsmanship
At last www.odogwublog.com reports that the Senator elect for Anambra central senatorial zone, Mrs. Uche Ekwunife has spoken.
She thanked the
people of Anambra central senatorial district for their overwhelming support in
28th March National Assembly election in the state.
Ekwunife as well
commended President Goodluck Jonathan for showing sportsmanship in the just
concluded Presidential election by accepting the outcome of the results and
congratulating his closest rival, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives
Congress, APC.
Ekwunife in a statement signed by her media Assistant,
Emmanuel Uzor described her victory at the polls as the manifestation of the
general wishes of the masses that have been yearning for proper and quality
representation especially at the highest chambers of the National Assembly.
“It is surprising that my opponent, Chief Victor Umeh
after losing election which I won on free and fair grounds is still opening his
mouth to talk. If the election is Anambra central zone is conducted a million
times, I will still beat him because the people chose me above every other
contestant in the election. I advice him to toe the line of Mr. President who
conceded to defeat, he (Victor Umeh) should concede to defeat”
"I want to commend Mr. President for the sacrifice he made for Nigeria, keeping his words. He deserves to be commended for rising above self and considering the country first. Nigerians have come the realization that what Mr. President has been saying that his ambition doesn't worth blood of any Nigerians has been true and we have to hold him in a very high esteem for this uncommon show of sportsmanship and this goes a long way to show the type of person he is and history will judge him right"
The senator elect further described President Jonathan as the author of Nigerian democracy, adding "President Goodluck Jonathan domesticated democracy in Nigeria and should be commended for conducting a free, fair and credible general election in the history of Nigeria democracy"
She however called on the President elect, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari to be magnanimous in victory by seeing all parts of the country as his primary constituency and to consolidate of the already achieved gains of the outgoing administration.
