Umuada Igbo backs Ekwunife

A strong and formidable Christian women organization under the aegis of Umuada Zion (Daughter of Zion), has described the renewed effort by political opponents to stop Hon. Uche Ekwunife from
coming out victorious at the March 28, Poll as too late, saying her major opponents, Senator Chris Ngige and Chief Victor Umeh can no longer convince the electorate to vote for them in the March 28, election based on Uche’s track records of democratic credentials and unequalled Philanthropy.
A statement issued by its leader, Ada zion Victoria Mbama said: “Never in these climes has a politician demonstrated a robust engagement with the less privileged among us as Ekwunife has done.
“Her dedication to the universal ethos of love and charity is indeed a divine calling, driven by passion and untainted by guile. For paying the price of prayerful forbearance and painstaking partnership through the years with our organization, and for keeping faith with the moral imperative of destiny, Ekwunife deserve her place in history.
“Hon. Ekwunife’s heart touching care for the widows giving them succor by providing them with accommodation, for the defenceless, stigmatized and neglected children, cleaning them up and caring for them as her own, for those living with disabilities making life easier for them with the provision of their basic needs, for mothers with multiple births giving them a platform and making life meaningful to them, and her general concern and good will to the people of Anambra Central Senatorial District in particular, the state in general especially the women stole my heart away.
“She is indeed a Mother in zion. A breath of fresh air, who will make our lives better. The political atmosphere in Anambra Central Senatorial District is fully charged, because of the personalities involved this I advice her male opponents Umeh and Ngige, on the need for restraints and caution, to toe the path of sanity and decorum as was demonstrated by Hon. Ekwunife during the resent  Mothers’ Day Celebration at the St. Silas Anglican Church, Enekwasumpu when she embraced Senator Ngige on arrival at the venue of the occasion where the Iyom, was already being attended to by the Christian Mothers’ so as not to unnecessarily overheat the polity”.
She further said Iyom Uche Ekwunife had given Anambra women a sense of belonging, adding that they would  not leave any stone unturned to ensure that Ekwunife wins come March 28. From Anaocha, Awka North and South, Dunukofia, Idemili North and South to Njikoka they have reached out to the grassroots rallying support for Iyom, the person Anambra Central needs.
She therefore, urge the people of Anambra Central Senatorial District to vote for Ekwunife looking at past records of the three Senatorial Candidates in the March 28 election from the zone and choose the humble woman and role model with track records of  democratic credentials.
Madam Victoria Mbama insists that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Uche Ekwunife remains the best candidate considering her achievements as member Federal House of Representative and also considering her open door policy. According to her, “when we talk about democracy, we are talking about people who have the temperament; those who have the democratic principles like Ekwunife to handle things in the country. It is glaring that Ekwunife would make it to the Senate, her opponents need not waste energy on a failed project”.
In her words, “it takes God to take you to where your destiny is no matter what people, mere mortals, say about you”, she said. For Victoria Mbama and her fellow women, a vote for Ekwunife and PDP is a vote for development and general well being of the zone, and state.
“Elections are a means, not an end in themselves; they are supposed to be for life, and not what citizens should kill or die for. Elections are like rain; even if they are accompanied by thunder storms and lightening, they will come and go. but our zone, state and country must remain (soldier go, soldier come barrack remain)”, she concluded.
