The
Senator representing the Anambra Central Senatorial Zone in the National
Assembly Dr. Chris Ngige has passed a vote of confidence on General Muhammadu
Buhari (rtd) as the sole Presidential candidate who can fight corruption in
Nigeria.
Senator
Ngige a Former Governor of Anambra State gave the indication while speaking to
the press in Amawbia.
According
to Senator Ngige, General Buhari if elected the President, will ensure that the
Igbos will get their fair share in national development.
The
Senator who maintained that corruption has remained the bane to national
development, said Buhari remains the candidate that can fight corruption and if
elected, will facilitate development in all sectors of the economy, industry,
road infrastructure in the south east geo-political zone.
He
regretted that the Goodluck Jonathan administration has placed a 25-year old
toll to be collected after the completion of the Second Niger Bridge which Buhari
has promised to make toll free if elected.
Dr.
Ngige said for the permanent voters cards, sensitization will continue although
he regretted that some areas in the state recorded low collection of the PVCs.
On
his part, a former President General of the Amawbia Town Union, Chief
Chukwunyelu Mogbo concurred with Senator Ngige that corruption needs to be
fought in Nigeria to move it to the right path.
