reports that the Anglican Bishop of Mbamili Diocese Right Reverend Henry Okeke,
yesterday said President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidency is pro-human and prayed
for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Anambra North
Senatorial Candidate,
Princess Stella Oduah, to ensure implementation of her
visions for the zone, when elected.
Oduah was accompanied in the visit by Mr Tony Nwoye, who is
also a PDP candidate for Anambra East and Anambra West Federal Constituency
among other candidates of the party in the zone.
Okeke said: ``With your laudable programmes and vision, our people would be better of; and I pray you would not disappoint us’’.
The bishop said this while praying for Oduah, who was a former Aviation Minister, at his bishop’s court in Umueze Anam in Anambra West LGA during a courtesy call.
He noted that the laudable achievements of Oduah speak volume of her will-power and desire to make and enforce a change.
``I have heard all you have done so far; both when you where a minister and even those things you have done after you left government. They are wonderful.
``I have also listening to you on your programmes and vision for our people, who are mostly riverine people; I must say I am deeply impressed for such a wonderful thought coming from you.
``Our major headache here is that our representatives have failed to identify with home and bulk of the money released as constituency projects do not get to the target people; and welfare and empowerment is not given to our people.
``I would continue to pray for you, that if you succeed, you should not disappoint us, haven known you have toured virtually all nook and crannies of the senatorial zone and have seen poverty and neglect written in most of our communities,’’ he said.
Responding, Oduah assured the bishop and good people of Anambra North zone of her commitment to up-lift their standard of living and attract social amenities from the Federal and state governments back home.
``I am going to give an impressive and quality representation based on performance by making sure I contribute in speedy development of this zone; since this zone is far behind among other zones in Anambra State.
``Since, you (bishop) have accepted my ambition and visions for our people; I would continue to consult you on a regular basis concerning our people’s welfare.
``I am not a betrayal and I would keep to every word you have heard me speak today,’’ she said.
